Included in this price is a DVD of all images captured and a beautiful custom designed, hard bound book that tells the story of this child’s birth.

For an additional $300, I will return within the first week and include a newborn photo shoot on your DVD.
Personally, I find birth photography to be an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling experience. I am willing to be at a birth for as long as a couple would like me to be there–whether that be 19 hours or just the final moments from crowning to delivery. Sharing this most intimate time with a family and documenting it for them in a very skillful and artistic way–it is one of my greatest joys.
Birth photography can be done in the hospital as well as in the home. I have even been asked to be at a scheduled c-section. Unfortunately, we couldn’t convince the staff to let me in the operating room, but I was there to follow the baby and father around as soon as they came out of the O.R.. I was able to document the baby’s journey during the time he and his mom were separated and she was in recovery. The family found that this documentation was invaluable to them.
How does it work? First, I like to meet with prospective families and talk about what they would like to gain from the experience and what kind of images they are interested in. It’s a great time to chat and get to know one another, as well. I always say that the middle of labor is not such a great time to meet! I put your due date on my calendar and then mark off 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks post as the “window of opportunity” for that birth. (Of course, you may deliver outside of that window and that is absolutely fine…it is mostly a guideline for scheduling purposes) This way I let all portrait clients know if I am on call for a birth it is a possibility we will need to reschedule. I am on call 24/7 and am ready to come at any moment for the birth. I will only schedule 2 births a month so be sure to contact me right away.
